Sarah Churchill

ABOUT.

Sarah Churchill is a third year PhD candidate and fellow at Drew University (New Jersey, USA). Her primary field of academic interest is in 20th century European art and visual culture, with emphases in the history of photography and photographic theory, the history of modern architecture and museum decolonization. Sarah also specializes in the history of Irish art and in the analysis of the material and visual culture of Irish dance. Her article, 'Revolutionary Threads: The Mediation of Gender and Political Identity in the ''New Irish Dance Costume'', 1917–1937' was published in Gender & History, Vol. 31, No. 1 (2018).

Sarah is also adjunct instructor of art history at Housatonic Community College and a freelance writer.
